When We Are Weak

When We Are Weak by R. S. Thomas

When We Are Weak
When we are weak, we are strong. When our eyes close on the world, then somewhere within us the bush burns. When we are poor and aware of the inadequacy of our table, it is to that uninvited the guest comes

It is to that uninvited the guest comes

Exquisite. Almost Daoist in its sentiment.

How efficiently the individual moves in the world when guided by spiritual instruction and divine correction.

A reminder that God is infinite in the spaces that the human race exists in. There is no madman, no nomad, no interloper, only humanity, only the individual, only the demolishment of stigma left, only spirit, although fragile, although frail, sometimes broken, only entrenched soul, beckoning, yearning for communion.
